It is a rule at ResearchTour Cameroon that all instruments (questionnaires, interview guides, etc) must be thoroughly reviewed to determine its suitability for sampling and propensity to gather the required information before field researchers are dispatched. We always make sure that we ‘take another look’ at the instruments and if need be, make suggestions for change to the principal researcher. In doing this, we take into consideration the target population, sampling technique to be used, resources available (time, money, etc), intended method of data processing, and other factors. The intention is to make sure that the research registers maximum success. 

A number of instruments that have come to us have needed to be coded or recoded before they are taken to the field. This is the job of our statisticians. 

Due to the bilingual nature of our country, we have had to translate some instruments into English or French. This depends on the original language of the instruments and that of the target population. But do not be scared because responses from respondents are written (by our bilingual research assistants) in either of our national languages better understood by the principal researcher. We charge nothing for this; it is part of the job. 

Instrument printing and copying

ResearchTour Cameroon runs a well equipped documentation centre at the University Street , Molyko Buea. The centre is named CREATION APOCALYSEand can handle all printing, photocopying and packaging needs for your survey instruments.  

Field data collection

ResearchTour Cameroon has trained field research assistants who have deep knowledge in qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques in both rural and urban research. We also have people who are specialized in forestry, agriculture, economics and management, corporate social responsibility, gender studies, sociology, law, political science, development studies, geography, geology, environmental science, biochemistry, linguistics, biology, chemistry and statistics research.
